Dance Chapel Hill offers classes for typically-abled and differently-abled adults, including those in wheel chairs, with autism, Down Syndrome, and other developmental or physical challenges.

DCH is based on the truth of Jesus Christ. Jesus taught to love your neighbor as yourself, to speak up for what is right, to help the poor, and to love each other. However, there is no excluding of faiths or beliefs.

“We are changing our communities for the better, one dance at a time.” Joy T. Williams

DANCE 4 HIM

About Dance 4 Him

Born out of Amy Johnson's love for dance and love for the Lord, Dance 4 Him employs ballet fundamentals and some modern technique to teach dance worship. Class options range from beginning to advanced.

About the Instructor
Amy Johnson has been dancing since the age of 8, studying ballet, tap, jazz, gymnastics, and acrobatics for over 11 years. She was simultaneously involved in theater, including the first-string dance role in North Carolina Theater's production of "Funny Girl" at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium.

During college, Amy pursued academic rather than arts studies, but never stopped dancing on her own. Desiring to study again under professional tutelage, she enrolled in ballet classes with JoAnn Stevens, who also introduced Amy to liturgical (worship) dance. With a long history of performance dance, Amy really relished using her talents for the Lord.

After 6 years under JoAnn’s guidance, Amy struck out teaching on her own. She has spent the last year on the substitute list at DanceCentre and as a Worship Dance and Creative Movement teacher at Grace School of the Arts.

Amy’s classes are taught in the fellowship hall of Church of the Harvest, Carrboro (200 Pleasant Dr. on the corner of Hillview & Pleasant), where her husband, Troy, is the pastor.

Troy and Amy homeschool their three children: Kara, Joelle, and Caleb.
